As most of you know, or maybe you don't, my three year old son has Childhood Apraxia of Speech. In short, he is unable to speak at an age appropriate level due to his brain and muscles in his mouth not communicating correctly. He's been in speech therapy since the beginning of the year and he's made huge progress but he has a long way to go.
As Halloween approaches, it's hard for parents of kids who have CAS to plan for ways to help people understand why their children aren't speaking or saying "Trick or Treat" to get their candy. I saw this idea posted online but there wasn't a way to print it so your kids could wear it, so I created my own for my son to use! I've made it available here as well so you can print it for your children too! (printable file linked at the bottom of this post)
I hope all your CAS kids have a wonderful Halloween and are able to fully enjoy themselves while Trick or Treating this year! What are your kids dressing up as?
